Naturally suited for this sport, the area provides more than a reason (extremely good reason!) why taking on this outdoor activity. There are lots of sailing lovers who choose to spend their holidays on Garda Trentino every year, and mainly in concomitance with unmissable top events! We have chosen 5 out of many of them, to create a top 5 list led by… the wind of passion!
19th Torbole Europe Meeting and 1st Zoom 8. 320 boats and about 80 coaches. Record-breaking numbers for an event that is becoming more and more important, because it is the first regatta in the year for both classes! When? From the 8th to the 10th of April 2017.
35th Lake Garda Optimist Meeting. The world’s biggest single-class regatta! From the 13th to the 16th April, some 1055 athletes will take part in this Guinness World Record® regatta! Every year, junior yachtsmen from all over the world are ready to land on the Garda Trentino shores for the this event, organised by Fraglia Vela Riva and dedicated precisely to youth sailing.
J70 Eurocup. The emerging class J70 (with a 4-men crew for an exciting smart version) meets up in an international event from the the 23rd to the 25th June 2017.
O’Pen Bic World Championships. This year the Circolo Vera Arco will be home of the 2017 Class World Championship. 180 racers and over 700 people among supporters and trainers for a world event that gathers the greatest yachtsmen of the world on some 12 class competitions from the 31st July to the 4th August 2017.
470-420 Junior European Championship. From the 8th to the 13th August 2017 the 420 & 470 European Youth Championship will be held. High technical skills for a thrilling regatta dedicated to the European youngsters!
Sailing has always followed and attracted man in its transfers since early history. Already in the second century b.C. the first sailing competition was held in the Aphrodite Temple.
The goddess of love and beauty began this sport, and it couldn’t be different because everybody becomes more beautiful with ruffled hair and golden skin, being them both athletes or just enthusiasts.
The regattas, pushed by the Garda Trentino Ora wind, carries the pep and beauty of a landscape that fills up the five senses day after day, season after season, like a sail swollen by the wind!
