Imagine a rich and multifarious set of flavours and perfumes, local excellences and workshops. Zero-mile products and cooking shows with great chefs. Imagine a whole weekend dedicated to the best and tastiest things there are in a region: Trentino. Garda con Gusto celebrates all of this from the 3rd to the 5th November 2017 in a proper heap of flavours from Lake Garda and Trentino.
The core of this three-day event is the De.Co carne salada, the undisputed protagonist of the exhibition. At its court, the culinary pride and joy of Trentino: from the POD extra virgin olive oil to the Igp lake fish, from the POD plums from Dro to the green broccoli from Torbole, presided over by Slow Food. And also cheeses, vegetables, coffee, wine and sweet tidbits. (you can buy the tickets for the tasting sessions here)
The programme (read the all programme here) opens its door on Friday, the 3rd of November with the Academy of the oil and the olive tree, where the Garda Trentino extra virgin olive oil, the world’s northernmost oil over the 46th parallel will be discussed! Following this, the first workshop about how creating some healthy and tasty snacks for the little ones with the local products.
On Saturday we will get going with two workshops: one to know all the secrets of the lake fish together with the only real fisherman on Lake Garda, Alberto Rania, and the other to find out the art of aperitifs, a daily moment appreciated as a moment of good conviviality, together with the chef Marcello Franceschi. Besides the workshops, on Saturday there will be also place for the long-awaited cooking shows.
The first will be held by the great master baker Antonio Lamberto Martino, a professional in Mediterranean Tasting Technique and a famous personality of the TV programme La prova del cuoco as a judge. Don’t miss his cooking show on Saturday, the 4th of November at 11.30! Among the others, he will delight us with a moment dedicated to the pan di molche, another delicacy from the Altogarda area.
As an alternative, Cristian Bertol will be the protagonist of the other cooking show.
The famous chef, protagonist of many editions of the TV programme La prova del cuoco, will introduce us his personal culinary interpretation of the carne salada.
On Sunday there will be place for some workshops on food intolerances with food bloggers and experts, other cooking shows and amusement on locally–rooted topics like the lake fish, but also alcohol-free cocktails to drink something happily, offered by the students of the Riva del Garda vocational school.
And what about the night? Some culinary and music amusement, other tasting sessions with the brewer masters, and many moments of happy conviviality, tasting the delicacies of Trentino with music and tidbits.
There will be loads of chances to understand, study and examine the local excellences, to taste the food tests between innovation and tradition. But above all, to live the territory at its fullest, starting from the great simple genuine local delicacies.
Because even if it is great to broad the discovery borders to external tidbits, it is also fine to remember the good past flavours, guardians of that tradition that lives stronger than ever thanks to Garda con Gusto… and with the nannies’ approval!
